Should Estate Agents go Back to School?

We don’t mean it literally of course, but we do have 5 books that make highly recommended reading for ambitious estate agents.

Recent social statistics reveal a dramatic rise in the number of agents setting up social media accounts to market their property listings.

Understandable, since the global pandemic has transformed the industry, prompting a greater digitisation of what had been traditional marketing methods. Some agencies are even making it mandatory for their brokers to market their property content (typically) via an Instagram or LinkedIn account.

Agents are increasingly using the power of “The Gram” to create buzz and visibility on a more aesthetic level and attract engagement.

Yet many studies show that individuals using social media frequently during their day and night, are more likely to suffer anxiety than those of their peers who don’t.

So can embracing social media hinder your ability to concentrate and get the job done?

Like anything in life, having a balance is a must. Constantly scrolling through social media feeds, even if the content you post and follow is career oriented, can have its downsides.

Strike that balance

If you’re an estate agent looking to boost your bottom line, try to strike a balance. The idea of reading a good sales book (alongside social media marketing), can’t be a bad thing for your deal pipeline.

There’s no question that reading traditional, audio, or E-books, forces us to focus on and process one subject without the distraction of popups, notifications and subconscious emotional swings.

Elon Musk learnt how to build rockets from reading books – how’s that for an upside?

Many of the world’s most successful business leaders consider reading a book before bed not only one of the best ways to wind down after a tough day (for Elon, a tough day making millions), but actually the key to properly absorbing information, which can then be used in real life business scenarios.

So we’ve done what we do best at HQ – the leg work, so that you don’t have to.
